When University United Methodist decided to build an outdoor baptistery and columbarium, we were excited for the challenge. We had done outdoor baptisteries before but never had the opportunity to do a columbarium. Utilizing an existing corridor between two of their buildings, the columbarium was conceived as a prayer garden. At the north end of the columbarium, the outdoor baptistery provides a focal point and the soothing sound of falling water when not in use. What was once an underutilized area now is a peaceful place of reflection and prayer.

When First Baptist expanded their Education facilities one of their primary concerns was their Academy. Their expansion included dedicated classroom space and a full science laboratory. The gym was designed specifically with the Academy’s basketball and volleyball teams in mind. To accommodate the Academy’s Pre-K and Elementary school a courtyard/playground bridges the Academy and the gym. All this had to be seamlessly incorporated around the church’s Wednesday and Sunday operations.
