Powers Goolsby was thrilled to take on the project of creating an outdoor baptistery and columbarium for University United Methodist. While we have experience with outdoor baptisteries, this was our first opportunity to design and build a columbarium.

 

We envisioned the columbarium, located within an existing corridor connecting two buildings, as a serene prayer garden. To anchor the space, we positioned the outdoor baptistery at the north end, where its gentle sound of falling water can provide a sense of tranquility when not in use. This transformation has turned a previously underutilized area into a peaceful sanctuary for reflection and prayer.
